CDL Language Requirements

CTI proudly serves the bilingual El Paso community. Our staff and instructors are bilingual in English and Spanish, and bilingual assistance and clarification are available when needed.

​

CTI does not offer a Spanish-language Professional Truck Driving Program. CDL instruction and Skills Test preparation are conducted in English.

​

Students are prepared for the English terminology and communication required for Pre-Trip Inspection, Basic Control Skills/Maneuvers, and Road Test preparation. Students are also advised that CDL/CLP knowledge examinations are administered in English.

​

Texas DPS currently makes its official Commercial Motor Vehicle Driver Handbook available in both English and Spanish. Students for whom English is a second language may reference both official versions for additional support; however, CTI emphasizes the English terminology required for the CDL testing process.
